How To Hypnotize Someone

Knowing how to hypnotize someone might not be as difficult as you might imagine. The actual step by step process involves simple directives that are easy to understand and to follow.

Hypnotism is the art of guiding individuals through verbal instruction into very deep and tranquil states of mind. Most people refer to this state of mind as being in a trance. Once the individual is in this condition, suggestions can be verbally given by the hypnotist, and the person’s subconscious while in this hypnotic trance can be manipulated to do almost anything.

Sometimes the suggested thoughts and actions given while performing hypnosis are for the purpose of helping the hypnosis subject; suggestions involving attitudes of anxiety, depression, anger, or fear can sometimes be addressed with in an attempt to eliminate or change these behaviors. There have even been attempts made where the hypnotist has given suggestions to the subject that encourage them to be desirous of a certain individual.

It is critical to understand that subjects being hypnotized won’t normally be prone to go against their values or personal beliefs. A person can only be encouraged to take suggestions that are along the lines of what they might already think or do.

People under hypnosis have been known to take part in incredible feats and impressive actions, but they traditionally won’t go against their morals, values, judgment, or mannerisms. Captive minds are not what hypnosis is about.

How can you as an individual learn to hypnotize? It is surprisingly easy to do. In some ways each of us are a bit influenced by people in our lives. It is done on a more conscious level, but it does involve some of the same principles. Anytime you have been in deep talk with another individual, it is a bit like being hypnotized. If you have ever had times when you have been so deep in thought, forgotten your immediate surroundings, and have to be refocused you have experienced a bit of hypnosis.

Some people practicing this procedure of hypnotism will have someone sit in a chair and relax. Then they will suggest that the subject concentrate on a particular scene in their mind or perhaps to focus on a particular object in the sky or some point on the horizon. They will ask them to lose all unfocused thoughts active in their head and just concentrate on the voice of the hypnotist.

Based on the primary concept of relaxation and focused thinking, the mind is guided by the verbal suggestion of the hypnotist. Once the subject has been led to connect with their sub-conscious, the hypnotist should suggest that the subject concentrate on relaxing and visualizing an object, an image that might be in the room, a particular location or place that forms an image they can grasp in their mind. It must be a scene or thought that relaxes gives the one in charge the opportunity to lead the subject.

Learning how to hypnotize someone starts with the idea of relaxation, right thinking, concentration, and the right setting and time when relaxing is possible. When the subject appears to be in a surrendered and focused mindset; that is when the session can truly begin to be productive for the hypnotist and the subject.

Obviously, this is a major simplification of the topic of hypnosis, however, it does reveal the basis behind hypnosis, and eliminates some of the misunderstanding about the process.
